preserving natural forests

We aim to preserve natural habitat by purchasing land of significant ecological value.

We prefer not to rush this project. At the moment we are discussing and finding a proper setup for our DAO. A lot of care is taken for the setup of a non-profit company to actually buy the land. Setting up the governance is also in its infancy and will grow with the growth of the DAO. So there are a lot of ways to contribute and direct preservationDAO. Feel free to follow and join us.

Current State of the DAO

At the moment the DAO is in its infancy and we manage ourselves on the Preservation DAO discord server.

At the same time we are looking at ways how to establish a non profit LLC in an efficient way. On the blockchain side we have evaluated different tools, chains and rollups to deploy our DAO onto. It is clear that we will open the DAO in the Ethereum ecosystem but otherwise we are open.

Next Steps for the DAO

We are discussing a wide range of possible setups for Preservation DAO. We tray to keep the overhead as low as possible and only add complexity when it is needed. The next steps will be a vote to deploy a treasury contract and also establish the non-profit LLC.

Governance

Governance at the moment is an informal alignment between active participants on the discord server. As a next step we will have informal votes on discord were every discord user can cast a vote and have its say in the future of Preservation DAO.

In the not too distant future we will move the governance vote to a more established platform which allows voting for stakeholders through token voting or even NFT voting.

Forest Tokens

Forest tokens will be tokenized protected forest. Each token represents a fraction of forest owned by the DAO. These tokens can be obtained by donating to Preservation DAO. Each token has a fixed price. They can not be redeemed through Preservation DAO, but as they are standard ERC-20 tokens they will be tradeable on secondary markets.
